OBITUARIES Thomas F. Cosgrove, Sr., 78, of Berlin, died, Sunday at home. Born and raised in New Britain, he and his wife , the late Shirley (Fortin) Cosgrove, moved to Berlin in 1957. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Signal Corps, in Germany. Upon his return to the United States, he worked forty years for the So. New England Telephone Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Church and the VFW. In his early years, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Cosgrove is survived by his children, two sons, Thomas F. and his wife Catherine Cosgrove of Davidsonville, MD, Timothy W. and his wife Marianne Cosgrove of Madison, his daughter Michele C. Harris of New Britain; four grandchildren Barrett, Griffin, and Zachary Cosgrove and Kelly Harris and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Daniel Cosgrove and a sister Dorothy Heffernan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the George Bray Cancer Center c/o the Hospital of Central Connecticut 100 Grand St. New Britain, CT 06050, in memory of his wife Shirley Fortin.
