OBITUARIES Normand J. Carriere, 72, of Durham, died early Monday Morning at the Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown. Born in Newington, he lived most of his life in Berlin moving to Durham in 1995. During his career, he owned the Carriere Service Stations in East Berlin and Rocky Hill and had worked at Mercury Oil and at Dunbar Armored Car the last eleven years. He was a singer with the New Englanders, a Volunteer Fireman in East Berlin and U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Normand is survived by two sons James M. Carriere of Berlin, Donald J. Carriere of Southington, two daughters Linda J. Faulkner of Glastonbury and Debora Lee Nicolelli of Branford; seven grandchildren Justin, Keith, Michael, Italia, Josh, Ryan and Rebecca; two great grandchildren Aden and Tyler; a brother Laurent and his wife Anne Marie Carriere of New Hampshire; sister Doris and her husband Ronald Kaszycki of Berlin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia E. Carriere and two brothers, Donald J. Carriere and Raymond Carrierre. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in the State Veteran�s Cemetery, Middletown. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
