Obituary of Eleanor Hayes

Obituaries Eleanor H. (Niedzwiecki) Hayes, 62, of Southington, died Monday Morning at home. Born in Bristol, the daughter of Sophie (Burdon) Niedzwiecki and the late Joseph Niedzwiecki, she was raised in New Britain and resided in Southington the last thirty years. A graduate of Mary Immaculate Academy, she also graduated from New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing and had worked as a nurse at New Britain General Hospital for twelve years and at the American Red Cross for twenty five years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed embroidering and ceramics and loved flowers and gardens. In addition to her mother, Eleanor is survived by her husband Michael Hayes, her sister Carol and her husband Jim Seaman of Plantsville, two brothers Daniel and his wife Nancy Niedzwiecki of Farmington, John Niedzwiecki of Baltic, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation 35 Cold Spring Road Suite 411, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
