Obituary of Eugene Dziekan

DZIEKAN: Eugene M. "Zeke� Dziekan, 75, husband of Charlotte (Hapgood) Dziekan, of New Britain, died Saturday Feb. 3, 2007 at Hospital of Central Connecticut - New Britain. Born in New Britain, he was a lifelong resident, a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and prior to his retirement in 1994, was a custodian at the Smalley School in New Britain. A friend to many, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jamie and his wife Lori Bernier of Tolland, Wayne Hapgood and his wife Lesley Fearnley of Middletown, and Bryan Hapgood and his companion Pam Randall of Northport, Fla.; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ellen Kalinoski. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 - 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor�s choice.
