OBITUARIES Mary D. (Nappi) Klapatch, 96, of New Britain, died Tuesday at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Sebastian and Speranza (Mazzocchi) Nappi, she was a New Britain and Madison resident all he life. In her early years, Mary started and ran a court reporting school in New Britain. She later worked for the State of Connecticut. She was the widow of Daniel Klapatch. A long time Red Cross swimming instructor at Hammonassett Beach, she also was a member of the Appalachian Hiking Club. Mrs. Klapatch is survived by her son Robert Klapatch of Kensington, two daughters Mary Ann DeGruttola of South Glastonbury, and Lorraine Kreske of Ellington, two brothers John Nappi of East Berlin, and George Nappi of Kensington, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MidAtlantic Make a Wish Foundation 10929 Connecticut Ave. Kensington, MD. 20854.
