Obituary of Ann Geraldine Janecko

Ann Geraldine Janecko, 95, of New Britain, passed away early Sunday (Sept. 14, 2014) at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Jacobs) Hudak, she was a lifelong resident. She was the wife of the late Joseph Janecko. After high school, Ann attended the Hartford Academy of Hairdressing and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was a long time member of All Saint's Church in New Britain and joined St. Ann's upon its closing. She was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, and was an active member of the CPOA, in her early years. She was an avid reader, loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden.
Mrs. Janecko is survived by her daughter Christine and her husband Lawrence O'Neill of Yarmouth Port. MA; two sons Jerry Janecko of New Britain, Stephen Janecko of Rocky Hill; her grandchildren Sean and his wife Elizabeth O'Neill, and Sarah and her husband Ryan Thorpe; a great grandson Nolan Ryan Thorpe; a sister Terry Seidl of Newington and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Mark Janecko and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday 10:30 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Ann's Church North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the VNA Hospice of Southington.
