OBITUARIES Joan F. Arburr, 71, of New Britian, died Saturday at New Britain General Hospital. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Frank (Hank) and Mary (Hudak) Arburr, she was a life long resident. She attended local schools, graduated from CCSU in 1956 and taught in the New Britain Public Schools for 36 years at Elihu Burritt, Smalley and the Stanley Holmes Schools. Joan was a member of St. Ann�s Church, loved UCONN Basketball, the New York Yankees and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Family and friends were very important to her. Joan is survived by two sisters, Terry Arburr of New Britain, with whom she made her home, Gail Ascare of Groton, her brother Peter Arburr and his wife Carol of Newington; her nephews Donald Ascare and his wife Dianne of Troy, MO, Alan Ascare of Colchester, Michael Ascare and his wife Andrea of Glastonbury, David Arburr and his wife Toni of East Hartford and several greadt nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Francis Arburr. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann�s Church 114 North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. Ann�s Church c/o 47 Clark St. New Britain, CT 06051.
