OBITUARIES Alfred W. Parlow, 76, of Farmington, died Monday at New Britain General Hospital. Born and raised in New Britain, he was a graduate of New Britain High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Al was employed by Somers Ford on Myrtle St. in New Britain and later became sales manager of H & H Volkswagen in Plainville for many years. A longtime member of the New Britain Lodge of Elks # 957, he had been Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. He served as Chairman of the New Britain Fire Commission where he made numerous firefighter friends. He was known as the Goodwill Ambassador to Aruba. Over the last ten years, Al volunteered at Pulaski Middle School and the Gaffney Elementary School every day. Al is survived by his wife Mary Jane (Cullum) Parlow, his children Alan and his wife Suzanne Parlow of New Britain, Dawn and her husband William Doyle of Lynnwood, Washington, Shari and her husband Chris Lopez of Ventura, CA and Lori and her husband Don Kullas of Ingleside Illinois; three grandchildren Lindsay Smolka. Nicholas Smolka and Jillian Lopez; a brother Eric Parlow of Riverside, CA, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his son Eric Wayne Parlow. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph�s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph�s Church 198 So. Main St. New Britain, CT 06051 or to the Sisters of St. Joseph 27 Park Road West Hartford, CT.
