Obituary of John O'Donnell

John R. O'Donnell, Jr. 74, of Berlin, died early Saturday Morning at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Haven, he lived in Clinton many years and resided in Berlin since 1972. He was the husband of the late Carlene (Dahlstom) Odonnell, who died Feb. 16, 2006. He had worked over 38 years at United Illuminating and was a well know Railroad Model enthusiast and belong to the Pulmonary Rehab Group at the Hospital for Special Care. John is survived by his three children Lynn O'Donnell of East Lyme, Jay O'Donnell and Tim O'Donnell, both of Berlin; two grandchildren Blaine O'Donnell and Teagan O'Donnell; his sister Louise and her husband Dave Stanton of Branford; two sisters in law Barbara Salwocki and her family and Evelyn Chudzik and her family; several nieces and nephews and a family friend Lori Fitts, whom they would like to thank for her care and assistance given to John. A prayer service will be held Tuesday (Jan.31, 2012) at 6:30 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
