D�Addabbo: Pauline "Penny� (Bordonaro) D�Addabbo, loving wife of Frank M. D�Addabbo, Sr., of Berlin, died peacefully surrounded by her family, after a brief illness at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, she had been employed by the City of New Britain at both the Police Dept. and the Tax Dept., and then by the State of Connecticut, Dept. of Public Health. A devoted Christian , she was active for many years in St. Ann�s Church Ladies Guild, and worked on the Passion Play; Sacred Heart Church Ladies Guild and briefly with their Senior Group, and was most recently a communicant of both Sacred Heart Church, East Berlin and St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville. A generous contributor to many charities, she was a member of the NBGH Auxillary for nine years, and a volunteer there as well. She enjoyed her Sunday boat outings on Long Island Sound with her family, and her rides with her husband along the CT coast. The love of her life was her family. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her devoted children, Donna Vita Cassella and her husband Michael, the Honorable Frank M. D�Addabbo Jr., and his wife Diane all of New Britain, and Lisa A. Szewczul and her husband Dave of Farmington; five loving grandchildren, Michael and Eliza Cassella, Kate and Sarah D�Addabbo, and David Szewczul; her sister-in-law, Ann Kumm and her husband Russell of New Britain, and their daughter Marie Ann Kumm and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 A.M., in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Main St., (Rt. 4) Unionville. Entombment in St. Mary�s Garden Mausoleum will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to either the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit), St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, 114 Woodland Street, Hartford, 06105, or to New Britain General Hospital, 100 Grand St., New Britain, 06050. The family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude and sincere appreciation , both Dr. Karl Karlson, and the entire staff of the CICU at St. Francis and Dr. Dennis Dolce and the emergency room staff at NBGH.
