OBITUARIES Rita M. Stanton, 79, of Garden St. New Britain, passed away Friday morning May 27, 2005 at the Southington Care Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late M. Edmund and Mildred (Goodrich) Stanton. A lifelong resident of New Britain, she was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1943. She was employed at Stanley Hardware, Division of the Stanley Works as an executive secretary for 47 years until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in New Britain, a member of the New Britain Council of Catholic Women, served as secretary for her high school reunion committee for many years and was active in the Stanley Works Dinner Club and the Stanley Seniors. Surviving are three brothers, Donald and his wife Joyce of Elmwood, Thomas and his wife Carol of Old Lyme, and Michael and his wife Donna of Kensington, two nephews James Stanton and Mark Stanton; six nieces Kim Martin, Beth Newell, Laurie Hine, Colleen Stanton, Christine Wzyga and Brenda Boone; 12 grandnieces and grandnephews and one great grandnephew. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (June 1, 2005) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Maurice Church in Rita�s memory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Southington Care Center, particularly Nancy and Rachel for the wonderful care and attention they gave to Rita and her family.
