OBITUARIES
John J. Mangan, Jr.82, loving father and grandfather died bravely as he lived, with his family by his side, at the Crestfield Health Center in Manchester. John was a man of great integrity and honor who served his country and valued his family above all else and revered all animals. He embraced living, loving and learning all of his days. He served his country honorably from World War II through the Vietnam War era in the United States Air Force. He was wounded several times and was a Prisoner of War. He was decorated many times and received the Distinguished Flying Cross Award. John was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of over fifty years Dorothy (Czarnecki) Mangan.
John is survived by two daughters Sandra Viltz of Plainville, Joan and her husband Courtney Doucette of Manchester, a sister Ida Ragazzi of Berlin, his grandchildren John and his wife Tina Viltz, Cira and her husband Rudolph Treichelt , and Michael Molchan and fianc� Heidi Ouellette; his cousins Shirley Maglio, Doris Skorupski, Bernice Parent, Emma Boles, Mary Fitzsimmons, Loretta O�Brien and Roger Corriveau, several nieces and nephews including Christine Murphy of Berlin and John Ragazzi, who were very close to their uncle. He was predeceased by tow sisters Dorothy Woznis Audibert and Lorraine Johnson and his loyal dog Max.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Church Slater Road New Britain. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday Morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, Donations may be made to the Connecticut Children�s Medical Center 12 Charter Oak Place
