OBITUARIES Paul J. McQuillan, 76, of New Britain, died Monday at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Bristol, the son of the late John and Helena (Toomey) McQuillan, he lived most of his life in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army from 1946 thru 1948. He attended the former Teacher�s College of Connecticut (now CCSU) and then graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1952. From 1952 to 1953 he served as a First Lieutenant, Infantry, during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Georgetown University Law School in 1956. In 1959, he entered the practice of law in the firm currently known as Januszewski, McQuillan and DeNigris. During his career he was involved in numerous activities and received many recognitions and awards including: Connecticut Trial Lawyers 2000 Lifetime Achievement Award, the John Carrol Alumni Award from Georgetown University, and an Honorary Doctorate of Criminal Justice from CCSU. Atty. McQuillan is survived by his wife Mary (Martin) McQuillan; six children Mary Celeste and her husband Richard Bianco, Anne and her husband Peter Vroom, Aileen and her husband Dennis LaGanza, Martin and his wife Kerri McQuillan, Julia McQuillan andher husband Stephen Lahey and Megan and her husband Vance Lenzi; two brothers Richard McQuillan and David and his wife Jean McQuillan, two sisters Alma McAuley and Jane and her husband Frank Sweeney, eleven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by five siblings Louise Connolly, John McQuillan, Helena Klett, Claire Shannon and Barbara Dailey. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church Stanley St. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Middle School 30 Pendleton Road New Britain, CT 06053.
