Max M. Julian, 86, of New Britain, died Sunday at New Britain General Hospital. Born in North Haven, the son of the late John and Katherine (Kolberg) Julian, he lived in Berlin and many years in New Britain and retired from the New Britain Police Dept. as a sergeant after 25 years. He was a member of St. Peter Church, St. Peter's Society, the New Britain Retreat League, the Berlin Moose, and in his youth was an avid ball player with the Twilight League, the Indusdrial League, and the City League. He was also a U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II. Max is survived by his wife Eveleyn (Stavnitsky) Julian, two nieces Dianne and her husband John Misko of Plainville and Cathy and her husband Joseph Labutis of Florida. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeal Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Members of St. Peter's Society will meet Tuesday Night at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home for a prayer service.
