OBITUARIES Eugene A. Charest, 78, 0f New Britain, died Thursday at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Franklin, NH, the son of the late Aime and Aurore (Labrie) Charest, he lived most of his life in New Britain. He was employed at the New Britain Housing Authority for many years. A parishioner of St. Jerome Church for over fifty years, he was also a member of St. Jean the Baptist Society. Mr. Charest is survived by his wife Rose (Rouleau) Charest; three daughters Laura Long of Bristol, Theresa Charest of New Britain and Gloria and her husband Dennis Martin of Plainville; three sons Robert and his wife Kathy Charest of New Britain, Richard and his wife Maryann Charest of Plantsville and Raymond and his wife Aida Charest of New Britain several grandchildren including his beloved and devoted granddaughter Shannon Urso who took care of her grandfather in his last months; several great grandchildren; a brother Fred Charest of New Britain; four sisters Rita Osipowicz of Salem, Florence Van Gorder, of New Britain, Doris Charest of Plainville, Laura Foligno of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Ronald Charest and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Church 1010 Slater Road New Britain. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the George Bray Cancer Fund at New Britain General Hospital 100 Grand St. New Britain, CT 06050.
