OBITUARIES Lawrence "Larry� Boccuzzio, 86, of New Britain died Saturday at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Stratford, he lived most of his life in New Britain and was employed at Connecticut Natural Gas Co. retiring in 1981. He also worked as a custodian for the Catholic Family Services in New Britain. A World War II Army Veteran, Larry was a member of the 169th Infantry, the National Guard, the VFW and served on the Veteran�s Commission. He was a dedicated parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Men�s Club of the church having been a devoted worker of the Bingo Committee and the Christmas Tree Sales. He was also a collector for the church. Larry was a well known life long New York Yankees Fan and an avid gardener. He enjoyed numerous summers camping in Hammonasset Park. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie (Lattarulo) Boccuzzio, three sons Vito and his wife Nancy Boccuzzio of Southington, Lawrence and his wife Sandra Boccuzzio of Bristol, and Richard Boccuzzio of Southington, three daughters Maryanne and her husband Donald Herman of Bristol, Peggy and her husband Daniel Foligno of New Britain and Nancy Romano of New Britain; six grandchildren Mathew Romano, Alex Romano, Lawrence Boccuzzio, Stanley Boccuzzio, Jennifer Boccuzzio and Jeffrey and his wife Michelle Boccuzzio and their children Jessica, Angela and Allison Boccuzzio; two sisters Ann Rizza of Middletown and Catherine Spatafora of CA; three sisters in law Stella Lattarulo, Catherine Lattarulo and Mary Lattarulo, whom Larry and Marie spent many summers with. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends from St. John the Evangelist Parish and Hammonasset Park. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.). Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church 655 East St. New Britain, CT 06051. Larry�s family would like to thank the staff of N-3 at New Britain General Hospital for their compassionate care and help during his many stays there. They would also like to express a special thank you to Dr. Patrick Dorvilus for all the kid attention shown to Larry and his family. Larry never complained, he was always far more concerned about his family and friends.
