Obituary of Kimberly Lucas

Kimberly A. Lucas, 37, of New York, New York, formally of New Britain, passed away at her childhood home on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. Kimberly was the beloved daughter of Leontina S. Lucas and the late Edward M. Lucas, Sr. After graduating from Miss Porter's School, Kimberly went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a Specialization in Public Relations from Boston University. For the past 14 years, Kim has lived in New York City, working in the public relations field. She loved exploring the city and spending time in Central Park. She also enjoyed traveling and being with her family, especially her nephew and nieces. Kimberly is survived by her mother, Leontina S. Lucas, and her grandmother, Katherine Schmalz. She is also survived by her sister, Katherine Lucas Glaspey and her husband, James E. Glaspey and her nephew and her nieces, Jack, Leah and Sarah Glaspey. Kimberly's adventurous spirit and quiet kindness will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A private funeral was held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at St. Peter Church, New Britain. Burial was in the St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to Miss Porter's School, Farmington, CT.
