Obituary of Francis W. MacGregor

Francis W. MacGregor, 72, of Austin, Texas, died Tuesday (June 24, 2014) in Austin. Born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, he was raised in Beloit Wisconsin, lived in New Britain for 10 years, Simsbury for 17 years, Norwalk for 14 years and the last three years he resided in Austin, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design from Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, WI and was a founding partner and principal for 18 years at Group Four Design in Avon. He later became a Real Estate Agent working for the William Raveis Agency in Westport, CT. Among his hobbies, Fran enjoyed tennis, traveling and gardening. Mr. MacGregor is survived by his wife Shirley (Bradley) MacGregor; his son Brendon MacGregor of Boulder, CO; two sisters Esther and her husband John Davenport of Arvada, CO, Sally and her husband William Greer of Clinton, WI, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:30 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain tumor Association 8550 W.
