Clarence J. Roy, 82, of New Britain, died Saturday (May 24, 2014) at home. Born in Ft. Kent, Maine, he lived in New Britain for over 60 years and was employed for 35 years at Marlin Rockwell, division of TRW and also worked at the Wheeler Clinic for 10 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and in his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and art, especially painting.
Mr. Roy is survived by his wife Doris (Dorice) (Coulombe) Roy; a daughter Nancy and her husband John Smidt of Feeding Hills, MA; a son Steve and his wife Maria Roy of New Britain; two grandchildren Gabriela Roy and Emily Smidt; two sisters, Jacqueline and her husband Russell Roy of Plainville and Gladys Dufour of Bristol and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters Harold Roy, Richard Roy, Rena Madore and Doris Pinette.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
