GURA, Alice May, age 64 of Spring Hill, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Bayfront Health Spring Hill. Born in New Britain, CT she came here 34 years ago from East Berlin, CT. She was a retired executive secretary and office manager to the Hernando County Administrator and Board of County Commissioners and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Survivors include her companion and best friend: Jerry Charette; daughters: Christine Schmidt and Shannon Brannon both of Spring Hill, FL and Tracey Bishop of Brooksville, FL; sisters: Jackie Gwazda and Denise Mora both of New Britain, CT; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation for friends will be 4:30 - 5:00pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel where funeral services will begin at 5:00pm. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain, CT.
