Sally L. Crowley, 86 of New Britain died peacefully Sunday morning at The Jefferson House in Newington where she was lovingly cared for in recent years. Born in New Britain, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Caufield) Ferguson, she was a lifelong resident of New Britain. Sally was employed by the New Britain School Department and worked for many years as the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools. In her later years she enjoyed travelling and visiting new places. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Detrick of Cromwell and her brother in law, Bill Detrick. She is pre-deceased by her brother David Ferguson of Plainville. She leaves several much loved nieces and nephews. She also leaves three children, Jeffrey Crowley of San Francisco, California, and his wife, Lisa Haller, Brian Crowley of New Britain and Sarah Crowley of London, England and her husband Esteban Lizan Fernandez. She also leaves five grandchildren whom she cherished and adored, Jennifer, Laura, Christian and Tim Crowley and Andres Lizan Crowley. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 31st, 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Stanley Street New Britain, burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Farrell Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Alzheimer's Society.
