Vivian (Barrows) Crabtree, 81, of New Britain, CT entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving children. She was predeceased by husbands, Michael Kron and Blaine Crabtree, eight brothers and sisters, James H. Barrows, James F. Barrows, Edward Barrows, Robert Barrows, Ann Mitchell, Elizabeth Carbone, Gertrude Barrows and Rita Dufini.
Vivian is survived by one sister, Joan Turgeon; her four children; James Kron, Sharon Kron, Thomas and wife, Laura Kron, and Charlotte and husband Tyke Robertson and three step-children; Wayne Crabtree, Kathi and husband, Danny Samko and Michael and wife, Danyell Crabtree; four grandchildren; Ronald Lentini, Dean, Kyle and Dallas Robertson and two step-grand children; Sandi Walker and Johnathan Samko; three great-grand children; Aaron Lentini and twins, Hannah and Hayden Gorneault ; two step great grandchildren; Saraya, Brianna and David Crabtree and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian will be most remembered for her strong devotion to her Catholic faith. As a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church she served as a member and former co-president of the Ladies Guild, Co-facilitator of St. John's prayer group, bingo kitchen coordinator and participated in many other church functions. She was St. John's representative to the New Britain Catholic Council of Women serving as first-vice president and membership chairman.
Equally, Vivian will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends. She was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother and care-giver.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Vivian's name to St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.)
