Marjorie Marie Lanza, 82, of New Britain, died Monday (Dec.2, 2013) at home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Sullivan) Lanza, she was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, she earned her Masters Degree from the University of Hartford and was a school teacher with the New Britain School System, teaching at Smalley School and Gaffney School. She was a bowler with the teachers and enjoyed golf at Stanley Golf Course. Marjorie is survived by her sister Gloria Lanza of New Britain and her brother William Lanza of Columbia, CT and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Virginia Maben and her brother Raymond Lanza, who was a fighter pilot during World War II. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
