Deniseann (Gebala) Carey, 78, of New Britain, died Thursday (Nov. 28, 2024) at home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Edward and Jeannette (Domizio) Gebala, she was a lifelong resident. After graduating from New Britain High School, Denise worked for the City of New Britain at the city parking garage, for over 40 years. She was the wife of the late Richard “Dick” Carey, who died in 2006.

Denise is survived by her sister Joan Birmingham of Little Rock AR, her nieces and nephews, Desiree Yopp, Joey and his wife, Nydia Cheatham, Tanya and her husband Ervin Prince, Brandon Birmingham, Elexis  and her husband, Norm Condon, Aaron and his wife Laura Birmingham, Collin and his wife, Stephanie Birmingham and Harvey Cheatham, Jr., and a host of great nieces and great nephews.  

She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Cheatham, and two bothers-in-law Harvey Cheatham and David Birmingham.

Funeral services will be held Monday (Dec. 9, 2024) 10:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer 538 Preston Ave #1 Meriden, CT  06450.
