Obituary of Gertrude Ziegler

Gertrude Hollfelder Ziegler of Southbury, CT, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Woelk) Hollfelder. She was the widow of New Britain Police Officer August Ziegler who died in 1997. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the former CT Business College. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury and also a member of St. Peter's Church in New Britain. She was predeceased by two sons Donald and his wife Janet Ziegler of Aurora ,Co and Kenneth Ziegler of Flushing,NY She is survived by two daughters, M.Z. (Ziggie) Ketchum of Southbury and Judith Jennings of Plainville, CT; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
