Obituary of Anna E. Greco
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Anna Emma Greco at the age 99 on November 3, 2024. She was born to Michael and Karoline Kramer on August 24, 1925 in New Britain. She attended local schools and worked various jobs, retiring after working 23 years at Emhart. In her youth, she was a star shortstop for the Landers Frary and Clark softball team.
Anna met her husband Louis J. Greco on a blind date in downtown New Britain and the rest as they say is history. They were married on September 14, 1946 and were married for 66 wonderful years before he passed on October 13, 2012. Anna loved to take photos at every family function and vacations. She shared volumes of photo books with her family. She was also known for her gorgeous sunset photos. On holidays, Anna would make her famous German strudel breads and delicious lasagna. She was an avid fan of the UCONN women’s basketball team and the Boston Red Sox. Always telling family and friends when they were playing.
Anna leaves three children, Joanne Collin of Bristol, Ken (Susan) Greco of Bloomfield and Roger (Susan) Greco of Berlin and grandchildren Robert (Karen) Collin, Bryan Collin (Michelle), Gregory (Jennifer) Collin, Timothy (Michelle) Collin, Kevin (Jaime) Greco, Lea Greco, Alicia (Paolo) Fiducia, Joshua (Serafina) Greco, Molly (Matthew) Szymaszek and Tyler (Sarah) Greco. She also leaves 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She also leaves a sister-in-law Irene Kramer as well as multiple beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 8 siblings, sisters Stephanie Carlson, Caroline Brolin, Margaret Tucciarone and brothers Rudy, Tony, Carl, Frank and Raymond. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring staff at the Jefferson House in Newington for their compassionate care and kindness over the past several years.
