February 18, 1934 - October 22, 2024

Our dear mother, Lourdes Legaspi, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Lourdes dedicated her life to her family and the values of love, kindness, and resilience.

Born in the Philippines of her late parents Anatalia Reyes, and Simplico De Leon. Lourdes came to the United States at 55 years old, and was employed at Carey Wiping Materials in New Britain for 25 years. Lourdes was a skilled cook, often sharing her delicious Filipino dishes with family and friends, creating lasting memories around the dining table. Throughout her remarkable life, Lourdes was known for her unwavering spirit and deep compassion.

Lourdes was predeceased  by her husband Venerando Legaspi, 3 sons Ricardo, Angelito, Jose and daughter Arcely.

Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. Lourdes is survived by her devoted children: Romy, Robert and his wife Doreen, Norie, Alex, Francis, and Margie with her husband William. Lourdes loved and adored her 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and many loving relatives who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts. She was a steadfast source of guidance and support, imparting valuable life lessons that will live on through her descendants.

Lourdes’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle demeanor and wise words will be deeply missed. As we remember her life, let us celebrate the love and inspiration she provided to so many.

May her soul rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Oct. 29, 2024) 10:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Monday ( Oct. 28) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
