Richard D. Smith, 69, of New Britain passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024. Born in New Britain he was the son of the late Richard and Lucia (Catanzario) Smith. Richard lived all of his life in New Britain and attended local schools. Richard was employed at Stanley Works working in production and at Viking Aluminum. In his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR races and old western television shows and movies.

Mr. Smith is survived by his sister Donna Smith and his two nephews, Tyree and his wife Julia of Middletown and Adrian and his wife Rosa of Springfield MA, along with his nieces and nephews, Jaylene, Adrianna, Brandon, Kaisey, Heidi, Alex, Adrian, Portia, Jarae, and Kelli.

Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery (St. Peter Section), 1141 Stanley Street New Britain.
