Iris H. (Harootunian) Karzian, 96, of New Britain, died Sunday (April 14, 2024) at home. Born in New Britain, she was a lifelong resident and widow of William Karzian. She had been employed for many years at the Telephone Co. in New Britain.

Mrs. Karzian is survived by five children Gary Karzian, Mark and his wife Mona Karzian, Lela Karzian, Jeffrey Karzian and Todd and his wife, Anna Karzian; her grandchildren, Amanda and her husband Bill Petras, David Karzian and his significant other, Helen Lopez, Isabel Banos, Jason Karzian, Joshua Karzian, Jordan Karzian, Jammie Karzian, Sara Karzian and her significant other, Anthony Zieglar and Amber Karzian, and several great grandchildren.  Iris also leaves her sister, Stella Nelson, formerly of New York, and her nephews, Billy Booth and his wife Liz Booth, of Maryland, and Greg Booth and his significant other, Liz Magliari, of Milford.

She loved dancing and gardening.  She attended church regularly, volunteered at various places, loved riding in the car listening to Frank Sinatra and attended Silver Sneakers at the gym.  Iris was loved by her family and friends. She was with her family the day of her passing.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 20th at 10:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.   Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery 120 Smalley St. New Britain.
