Earle J. Leavitt Jr., 74, of Rocky Hill (formerly of Southington) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 26, 2024.  Born in Island Falls, Maine he was the son of the late Earle and Jean (Patchell) Leavitt. He was the husband of Helena (Bednarz) Leavitt. Earle was employed at Pratt & Whitney and then the Advanced Products Business Unit of Parker-Hannifin as a manufacturing engineer. After retirement Earle worked at H & R Block helping people with their taxes.

In his spare time, Earle enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Gardner Lake where he camped, fished and enjoyed boat rides. In retirement, he and Helena enjoyed trips to the casinos to enjoy shows and a good dinner. He was an avid card player and loved both jigsaw and word puzzles.

Besides his wife Helena, Earle is survived by his daughter Amy and her husband Victor and their children Liliana and Jacob of Rocky Hill. He is also survived by his brother Gary and his wife Laurie of Vernon; along with brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in both Connecticut and Maine.

Funeral services for Earle will be held Friday April 5th with a visitation from 9:00 -10:30AM with a Prayer Service at 10:30AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain CT.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (www.mskcc.org).
