Obituary of David Otto Neurath

David Otto Neurath, 73, of Berlin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday December 5th.  Otto, as he was known, was the son of the late Otto Neurath and Ruth Zisk and husband to Kathy (Wheeler) Neurath. Born and raised in New Britain, he excelled at football and was awarded a scholarship to the University of Miami. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University and began a career as an art teacher with the New Britain public schools. He was a member and former President of the Spartan’s Club in Berlin.

Besides his wife Kathy he leaves behind his son James and his wife Arielle of New Haven, a daughter Kate Phoenix and her wife Natalie of Burlington. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Soleil, Riley, and Olivia and many cousins, a nephew and a niece. In addition he is survived by his aunt Beverly and her husband Ray Iverson of Clinton. Otto was predeceased by his brother Michael and sister Ruth Ann (Tammy) Pietrowicz.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday December 14th from 10AM – 12 PM with a Prayer Service at 12PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square New Britain. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
