Obituary of Robert Angelo

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Angelo, 85, of Wolcott, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023. He was born on August 15, 1938, in New Britain, Connecticut to the late Carl and Jean Prince Angelo. Robert grew up in New Britain and attended New Britain schools. After graduating from New Britain High School, he was drafted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After completing military service, in 1967 Robert returned to Connecticut and worked for many years at Peter Paul Electronics and owned and operated a successful Carvel in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Robert was a talented artist and played the piano by ear effortlessly. He was accomplished in both construction and home improvement projects, and his skills were admired by many. He loved to travel and spend time at the beach. His favorite trips were to the warm climates of Hawaii and the Caribbean, as well as the coastal regions of Rhode Island and Maine. It was at these places that he shared many wonderful memories with his best friend and companion of more than 40 years, Frank Corriveau. Nothing made Robert happier than being with his loving family and friends. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend who never missed a family get together, holiday or party. He had a knack for making people laugh, whether it was with his witty remarks, his hilarious anecdotes, or his clever jokes. His sense of humor, infectious smile and ever-present twinkle in his eye will be deeply missed.

Robert is survived by his beloved sister, Carole Manjoney of Trumbull, Connecticut, his nieces, Carole McDonald of Milford, Connecticut, Lauren (David) Martin of Easton, Connecticut, nephews Robert Manjoney of Trumbull, Connecticut, and Mark (Vincent) Manjoney-Santillo of New York, New York, four great nephews, and a great niece. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his best friend and companion, Frank Corriveau, older brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Simone Angelo, and his brother-in-law, Robert Manjoney, MD.

His family wants to thank the staff at the Jerome Home and Hartford Healthcare in New Britain, Connecticut for their compassion, dedication, and for always treating Robert with the utmost respect and love. They are among the unsung heroes in this world and do not get anywhere near the recognition they deserve.
