Obituary of Leslie A. Silvernail - White

Please share a memory of Leslie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

From her first breath on June 8th, 1970 in Bridgeport Hospital, Leslie Bruce was born a fighter. Only weighing 1lb 14 ounces she had to fight to survive. Leslie showed right from birth how much she wanted to see this world and be alive.  She was the daughter of William and the late Elizabeth (Hoppie) Bruce.

She was raised in Suffield, Connecticut in her early childhood through middle school and eventually she graduated as an East Hartford High School Hornet. After finishing school, she got right into the work force spending a lot of time in the retail industry where she thrived because she naturally just wanted to help people and conversate. She simply was happy to be alive and just talk with whoever would listen. Leslie went on to marry Mark Silvernail of Glastonbury in October 1987.

Soon after multiple attempts which came with tragedy she was able to birth her one and only child, her pride and joy, her daughter Kristy Sage Silvernail on September 8th, 1991. Leslie and Mark raised Kristy in the town of Glastonbury. Leslie continued living as a wife and mother for many years.

In her later years, Leslie re-married her late husband Bruce White. It was one of her happiest days surrounded by her family and friends even being married by her childhood friend Louis Hawkins as the Justice of the Peace. Leslie, Bruce and their border terrier Maximus resided in East Granby, Connecticut. They were happily in love until Bruce got sick and passed in February of 2023.

Throughout her life she was happy she loved and she wanted to be loved. Leslie Silvernail-White passed still fighting, still loving, and still giving to help others even in her last breathes.

Beside her father, she leaves behind her daughter Kristy Sage Silvernail and Travis Wright, and step daughter Laurie Miller. Also surviving her step mom Patricia Bruce, her aunt Kathleen Fitzgibbon, and her four brothers and four nieces, Raymond and his wife Linda, Billy and his daughter (Mercedes), Brandon and his wife Rachel and their two daughters (Stella and Tessa), and Bryan and his daughter (Elise) along with countless amounts of friends and other extended family. We cannot forget her favorite little buddy Max who was by her side through the thick and thin all the way until the end. She will be sorely missed and as she begins her next chapter in heaven reunited with her loving husband Bruce.

It is with our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all the staff at Saint Francis Hospital, with special thanks to the nurses and staff in the MSICU for taking such amazing care of Leslie in her final chapter of life.  MAY GOD CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER YOU AND BLESS YOUR SOUL LESLIE SILVERNAIL-WHITE!

The family has decided that they will be doing a private celebration of life for Leslie.
