Robert Poglitsch, 86, of Southington died peacefully after a long illness on Monday December 12, 2022.

Born in New Britain, the son of Michael and Emma (Gombotz) Poglitsch.  He lived his life in New Britain, Bristol, Berlin, and Southington.  He worked for many years in the Maintenance Department for Skinner Valve (Honeywell, and Parker) in New Britain.  He also served his Country in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Albina Poglitsch; Brother Karl Poglitsch and his wife Mary Ann, sisters Helen Sulik, Theresa Tierpack, and her husband Joe.  His children, Bobby Poglitsch, and his wife Gracey, Mike Poglitsch and his wife Anita, Mark Poglitsch, Randy Poglitsch and his wife Cindy, Sal Poglitsch, and Lee Ann Petig, Fred Sprague and his wife Kim, and several nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his kind heart and joking personality.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday December 20th11am-1pm at Farrell Funeral Home in New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to the American Cancer Society.

A special thank you to the kindness of Dr. Wong at the VA Hospital in West Haven.
