Obituary of Francis X. Fitzgerald

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Francis (Frank) Xavier Fitzgerald in the early morning of September 2nd at his home in East Berlin CT. Born April 14th 1938 in his beloved hometown of Framingham Massachusetts to parents Thomas and Marjorie Fitzgerald, Frank is predeceased by his sister Marjorie and brother Tom. As a lifelong Democrat, Frank was politically active since the cultural revolution of the 1960’s and never lost his passion to make the world a better place. Often breaking out in song from one of his favorite musicals, Frank’s kind and outgoing personality was immediately apparent through his sense of humor and quick wit. His love for the beach and ocean lead to many wonderful days with his family spent on his boat the “Fitz VI” in Long Island Sound. Having received his bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and Masters degree from Babson College, Frank went on to have a successful 40 year career in financial accounting with several Fortune 500 companies. In addition to his beloved wife Susan of 59 years, he will be missed by his four children (Christine, Michael, Mathew and Francis), his daughters-in-law (Mary and Charlotte) along with his six wonderful grandchildren (Patrick, Kyle, Kelly, Katy, Sophie and Liam). Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 48 Cottage Street, East Berlin CT on Friday September 9th at 10:00am.
