Obituary of Dolores L. Kane

Dolores Lass Kane, of New Britain and Southington passed away peacefully on June 4th 2021 at Southington Care. She was the beloved wife of 49 years to the late Gerald Kane. She was born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Josephine Cintalon Lass, her devoted mother with whom she lived, and her father Theodore ‘Ted’ Lass. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Gerald, and his wife Marlene of VA and John and his wife Lauren of Southington. She also leaves the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Katherine (Frederick), Daniel (Ginger), Erin (Cody), Bobby (Amanda), Lisa (Tatum). Also survived by 10 great grandchildren: Turner, Dolcé, Evan, Allison, Decklan, Brooklyn, Owen, Miller, Gerald, and Levi. Dolores was predeceased by her sister Barbara Gaetano, and a brother Everett Lass. She also leaves behind, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dolores’ career was nursing. She graduated NBGH School of Nursing and got her RN degree. Later, she graduated from NBGH School of Nursing Anestheia and received her CRNA and worked until her retirement in 1988. Dolores was especially talented in doing handwork her knitting won prizes, and her embroidery will be remember and treasured by her grandchildren’s Christmas stockings. Dolores enjoyed Husky basketball both men and women. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. Gerry & Dolores with their friends Claire & Guido Follacchio established a camp ground in Tolland, CT. Del-Aire Inc, with their sons and Audrey Follcchio. Funeral services will be held Thursday (June 10th) with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Katharine Drexel Parish (St. Maurice Church) at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 8:30 – 9:30 at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
