Obituary of Wanda Buccheri

Wanda (Perzan) Buccheri, 87, of New Britain, died Sunday (March 21, 2021) at St. Mary’s Home in West Hartford. Born in New York City, she lived most of her life in New Britain and was the widow of Joseph J. Buccheri, who died May 6, 1997. She retired from teaching in the New Britain School System in 1995 from Vance Elementary School after many years at the DiLoreto Elementary School. An active member of St. Paul Parish, she was involved in The Rosary Makers and the Shawl Ministry. For many years, she enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband Joe.
Mrs. Buccheri is survived by her children Robert Buccheri, Stephen and his wife, Wendy Buccheri, Patti and her wife Tracy Van Rye and Margaret Sznaj and her husband Gregory Sznaj, her sister Elaine and her husband Armand Zottola; her grandchildren Stefanie (Buccheri) and her husband Justin Sargis, Rocco and his wife Lynne Buccheri, Nicolas Buccheri and Bailey Cooper, Jared Boulet, Abigail Boulet and Danielle LaMonica, Evan Boulet and Kayla Donovan, Kayla Dube, Maximillian, Toby and Annie Sznaj; 8 great grandchildren (soon to be 10 great grandchildren) and along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (Mar.25, 2021) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Church 485 Alling St.Kensington. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. A Walk Through Visitation will be held Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Church.
