Helen D. (Drobot) Wrobel, 93, formerly of New Britain, died Saturday (Dec. 26, 2020) at LiveWell in Southington. She was the wife of the late Chester Wrobel, who died Oct. 1, 2010. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Ozga) Drobot she was a lifelong resident. She was employed at New Britain National Bank for several years. A member of Sacred heart Church, she also belonged to the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a member of the New Britain Council of Catholic Women, volunteered at the Hospital For Special Care in the Pulmonary Support Group, was a member of the Plainville AARP and the National AARP, member of the Hospital of Central CT Women’s Auxiliary , volunteered at the Hospital of Central CT in the ICU and ASU for 20 years and her favorite past time was volunteering as a cuddler at HOCC for sick babies. In her younger years, she was an assistant Girl Scout Leader. She loved to travel and was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting blankets for preemies, babies and cancer patients. Mrs. Wrobel is survived by her daughter Patricia Ferris and her husband, William; her son James Wrobel and his wife, Christine; her grandchildren Kimberly Berg and her husband, David; Kelly Ferrisand her fiance'Michael Todd; Michelle Morneault and her husband David; a great grandson, Lucas Todd; her goddaughter, Diana Hamel and her husband Robert. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Drobot. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (Dec. 29, 2020) at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489. The Wrobel family would like to thank the staff and caregivers for their compassionate care during her stay at LiveWell.
