Obituary of Thomas J. Clinch
Thomas J. Clinch, 90, of New Britain, died Saturday (Dec.12, 2020) at an area convalescent home. He lived his entire life in New Britain. Tom enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and competitive Field Trails. Tom hosted many gatherings at his home and at local venues where friends gathered for good food, drink, sporting events and spirited conversation. Tom retired from Connecticut Natural Gas Co. after many years. Prior to that, he was employed by the City of New Britain in the Water Department. During the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. Tom was a member of the 8th Ward Political Club and the Varpas Club. Tom was the son of Thomas Clinch and Ruth (Boyce) Clinch. He was predeceased by a daughter Denise Blanchette, brothers Francis McLaughlin and Eugene Jankowski. He was also predeceased by sisters Veronica Procko and Dorothy Proper. He is survived by his children Linda Nappi of Berlin, Renee’ Rowe of Plainville, James Blanchette of Kensington and Mike Blanchette of Florida and grandchildren. Tom also is survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nephews and nieces and great grand nephews and nieces. Lastly, Tom leaves a cherished friend and cohort Richard “Dick” O’Leary. Tom’s family wishes to extend their Gratitude to Amberwood’s and Staff of Farmington for their loving care of Tom. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
