Janine Bagenski, 67, of Berlin, died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2013) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in France, the daughter of the late John and Antonina Wantuch, she lived most of her life in New Britain and the last five years in Berlin. For several years, she was employed as a receptionist at St. Joseph's College in their Art Gallery, a job she loved and truly enjoyed. Prior to that she owned and operated Window Fashions in New Britain. She enjoyed her grandchildren and studying and reviewing the Bible in her prayer groups. She also spent several years as a religious education teacher at St. Joseph's Church in New Britain. Janine is survived by her sons Michael and his wife Christine Lanteri of Rocky Hill, and Robert Lanteri of New Britain; two grandchildren Alexa Lanteri and Kylie Lanteri; a brother Eugene Gawel of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church 158 Broad St. New Britain. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. 2080 Silas Deane Hwy. Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
