Everyone should know a man of this caliber. Matt was truly one of a kind. He was a proud Marine but also, in my eyes, a gentle loving giant. He always had a kind word for everyone. Few people got to see the side of him that I did. On the day of my dads funeral, 19 years ago. My young son just broke down in tears. I couldn't comfort him. Matt went over and got down on his knees and held him in an "uncle Matt" bear hug that only he could give and then stayed with him until the day was over. That's the Matt I knew. I cry not because I'm sad. I cry because I'm selfish. Till we meet again, my brother from another mother. The world needs a million more Matt Mildrums.
