Ann-Margaret was a neighbor and friend of my folks in New Britain. My mother often spoke of her optimistic attitude and bright mind. She and my mother enjoyed lunch dates with other neighbors and chats at the driveway when Molly was out for a walk. Ann-Margaret showed great interest in people and even gave my son brochures and a piece of memorabilia from her alma mater when she heard he was curious about Notre Dame. After moving to Jerome Home, a place held in high regard, she always checked on the well-being of another resident, my father! So grateful for her! Condolences to the family. Thank you for taking care of Molly.

Very sad to hear this news. I had the opportunity to meet Ann-Margaret a couple of times through mutual friends. I was always very impressed by how friendly and sharp she was! She was a remarkable woman.

I had the privilege of knowing Ann-Margaret Anselmo for at least a dozen years. Ann-Margaret was a delightful and engaging person, always finding interesting things to discuss, whether it was the books that we read, gardening, and current or historical events. She was modest about her many accomplishments. When you spoke with Ann, she gave her full attention to you and made you feel special. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.

Dr. Anselmo was such a wonderful person. I worked as her secretary when she was Academic Dean at Saint Joseph College. Because I enjoyed photography, she invited me to her home to take pictures of her dog. Because I loved lily of the valley flowers, she gave me a bunch to take from her yard, and they are still spreading and blooming in my yard. After she retired we remained friends and often went to lunch together. She will always remain in my prayers.

I met Ann Margaret and Molly at the Jerome Home. I was so impressed how friendly and sharp she was. Grew to love her and looked forward to seeing her each time I visited my Mom. I never dreamed she was 95! Quite a lady!

I remember my occasional discussion we had at Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz home (neighbor down the cul de sac) when she would be visiting at the same and with Molly. A great communicator and always insightful on current issues. It was lovely to have those conversations with her and I will remember them fondly. She was an inspiration to young women to become educated and knowledgeable in current issues.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Ann Margaret a truly special Lady. I got to know her volunteering at NBGH and recently at Jerome Home at Arbor Rose where she had a bird feeder outside her window and made sure it was always full for her avian visitors. Her love for her many dogs (who I hope will meet her at the Bridge} was an inspiration. She was an example of how a woman can leave a proud legacy to strive for.

Ann Margaret,
I don’t think there was a more positive person on earth than you. Each and every relationship and life experience was simply cherished by you. You were a women to look up to and to admire. Always the voice of reason. “I can only worry about today because it’s all that I’m guaranteed”. I love you. Molly loves you. We will miss you dearly.

Dr. Anselmo was one of the finest professors I had at Saint Joseph College at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, going back to when she was Sister Peter Marie. She remained a friend throughout our lives, and I will miss her very much. I take consolation in the belief that she has finally met Emily Dickinson, the subject of her doctoral dissertation and a lifelong interest. “Because [she] could not stop for death—He kindly stopped for [her]—”
