Bridie Rudiak of Unionville, CT went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2020 after a long illness. Bridie O'Donoghue was born in Killarney, Ireland and emigrated to the US in 1957 where she met her husband Eugene. After their marriage they lived and worked in New Britain, CT and started a family. They stayed in New Britain for many years until 2011 when Eugene passed away thereupon Bridie moved to Unionville to live with her daughter Elaine and her family, and she lived there until her passing. Bridie had an excellent, long and fulfilling life: her children, grandchildren and a recent great grandchild all in the US , and family in Ireland all celebrate her life, her accomplishments and the way she lived. She was a courageous, hard working, warm and caring family oriented woman with a constant smile and positive attitude no matter the situation. She was the only member of her family in Ireland emigrating to the US for better opportunities displaying great courage and fortitude and she worked at Emhart Corporation in New Britain and Berlin to help raise her family and give them the best possible opportunities. She was very focused on the well being of her family including ensuring educational opportunities for her children. She traveled regularly to Ireland with her husband, and later with her children after he died, to spend time with her loving relatives and her beautiful home country. Bridie was a traditional Irish lady, elegant and classy, with an Irish brogue and constant smile and a warmness about her that she passed on to all she met and all she impacted in her life. Even in her last days affected by dementia, she held that constant smile even though unable to speak. Bridie moves on to heaven leaving behind a family she is very proud of; her two children daughter Elaine Searle, of Unionville, CT and son John P Rudiak of Newtown, CT, plus Elaine's husband Tony Searle, and their children Stephen, Jillian and Lindsey McHugh and their baby daughter Lyla (Bridie's great granddaughter), plus John's family, his son Bryce Rudiak of Ansonia, CT and daughter Erin Rudiak of Newtown, CT. Bridie was pre-deceased by her husband Eugene Rudiak and her two sisters in Ireland Kathleen O'Connor and Mary O'Neill and a brother in Ireland Dan O'Donoghue She leaves behind many relatives in Ireland who cherished her including her brother Sean O'Donoghue. The family would like to give thanks to Bridie's amazing caregivers especially Renata, and Ashley and Raven all whom provided loving care throughout her illness, and thanks also to Bridie's special friend Patty Costello. The services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorial donations be given to Bristol Hospital Home Care and Hospice.
