I have very happy memories of my time spent with the Sweeney Family. If Mrs. Sweeney wasn't picking up or supervising her daughters, Bitsy and Sheila, and fellow cheer leading friends from Saint Joseph Cheer Leading practice then we were visiting their welcoming home on Forest Street in New Britain. Once there, we would shoot baskets in the backyard or eat cookies with milk resting in the kitchen. I always felt part of the family. Upon Mr. Sweeney entrance, his greeting was a chat about something funny from his repertoire of humorous scenarios he thought about to see a smile on faces. Boy, did I love his sense of humor! The other part of sharing memories was when I had been invited to Shuttle Meadow Country Club to swim and play tennis or visit their cozy house in the Vermont hills. As a young adult from a large family, the Sweeney Family welcome me with loving hearts. I hope this little bit of nostalgia reminds you all from Sean to Bitsy to Shelia and Mary Jane to Thomas Sweeney how bless this planet is to have such a family as yours to make other lives hold memories dear to the heart. My condolences to your whole family for a person who made a difference in my life and most likely, many more who Mr. Sweeney touched through his service to the sick at the pharmacy. Tommy, Sean, Bitsy, Sheila, and Kevin, Sorry I can't be with you to celebrate and say farewell to Uncle Fran. He was kind, good, fun, witty, smart, and easy to love. I was always proud to share a birthday with him. I know he was a great dad and loved you all so much. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
