Obituary of Donald L. Russell

Donald L. “Red" Russell, 83, of New Britain passed away at home on Thursday May 3, 2018. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Theodore and Viola (Olivier) Russell.  Donald was a retiree of The Fafnir Bearing Co with more than 35 years of service. He was a talented machinist known for his sense of humor and his ability to fix anything.  He was also a dedicated daily walker at Westfarms Mall.

Donald is survived by two daughters Mary Beth Russell of Farmington and Carolyn and her husband, Brian Burrill of Belmont, MA; his twin brother Ronald and his wife, Jean Russell of Plainville and two nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Edward Russell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday (May 9, 2018) with a service at 10:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain, CT. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
