Obituary of Allen C. Noddin

Please share a memory of Allen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Allen Noddin, 89 of Bristol passed away peacefully on April 17th in his home surrounded by his family after a seven year battle with cancer.  Born in Portland, CT, Allen was a Navy veteran.  A quiet man and accountant by trade, one of Allen’s greatest joys was his position as the Senior Pastor of the Church of the Infinite Spirit in Newington.

He’ll always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather (aka. Bestefar), and great grandfather.  He’ll also be remembered as a steadfast friend and care giver.  Over many years, he and his wife invited countless numbers of “new found friends” with no immediate family into their home to share their family and a holiday meal.  Thereby teaching his children the importance of helping others.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Ann in 2014.  He was also predeceased by his sister Dot Barr, and his brother Charles (Bud) Noddin.  He is survived by his daughter Linda Charnick and her husband David of Southington, his son Michael and wife Debra of Bristol, his son James of Bristol, and his son Keith and wife Deborah of Blaine, MN.  He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Michael Charnick and wife Michelle of Ft. Kent, ME, Jessica Smith and husband Randy of Farmington, Kyle Noddin and wife Katie of Bristol, Christopher Noddin and wife Sophanna of Blaine, MN, Jennifer Noddin also of Blaine, MN, and Sean Noddin of Tampa, FL.  He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Terra Lynn and James Noddin of Blaine, MN, Sydney and Max Smith of Farmington, and Jaxon Noddin of Bristol.

One of Allen’s last thoughts to share were the words Peace, Love, Harmony, and Balance.  For those that knew him, please keep those words in mind.  The Farrell Funeral Home of New Britain is assisting the family with arrangements.  There will be no calling hours as Allen’s wish was to be remembered as the man he was.  Services will be private at the behest of the family.  In lieu of flowers, Allen can be remembered with contributions to The Alzheimer’s Assn. 200 Executive Blvd. Suite # 4B Southington, CT 06089.
