Obituary of Mary Luciw
Mary (Kluka) Luciw, 90, of New Britain, died Friday (Apr. 6, 2018) at Apple Valley Rehab in Rocky Hill. She was the wife of the late William Luciw. Born in the Ukraine, the daughter of the late Simon and Pelagia Kluka, she came to New Britain in 1950. She had been employed for many years at OKAY Industries and was a member of St. Josaphat’s Church. Mary was well known as an avid sewer, and was regarded as the sweetest and kindest woman, not only by her family but everyone who knew her, had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh. She was fluent in three languages, Ukrainian, Polish and English.
Mrs. Luciw is survived by her daughter Anna Luciw of Rocky Hill, her son John Luciw of New Britain; several nieces and nephews, and her grand dog Cookie. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Michael Luciw and a sister, Stefka Fal and a brother Anthony Kluka.
Friends and family are invited to a service Thursday (Apr. 12, 2018) 10:00 AM at St. Josaphat’s Church 303 Eddy Glover Blvd. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Panachyka Service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russel Road Newington, CT 06111.
