Obituary of David R. Guite

David Roy Guite, 74, of Berlin, died Friday (March 10, 2017) at the
Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the son
of George R. and Edna (James) Guite, he was a lifelong Berlin resident.
A graduate of Berlin High School, class of 1960 , he was a tool & die
maker by trade, working at Supreme Tool & Die, Hartford; Nutmeg
Tool & Die, New Britain; Raymond Engineering, Middletown; Teleco
Oilfield Services, Meriden, and Cidra, Wallingford. He was a former
member and past president of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, a
Weblo Scout Leader and assistant coach of Berlin Little League.
Dave leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen (Meligonis) Guite,
whom he married Oct. 10, 1964, two sons Alan D. Guite and his fiancé
Lee Housley, Jay Guite and his wife Mary Sue Guite, a granddaughter
Amber L. Guite, three grandsons David A. Guite, Garrett J. Guite and
Ian M. Guite, a sister-in-law Audrey (Meligonis) and her husband Bob
Bushey, 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (Mar.16, 2017) 9:00 AM from
the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of
Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Sacred Heart Church 48 Cottage St.
East Berlin. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Worthington Ridge,
Berlin. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Berlin Volunteer Fire Dept. 1657 Berlin Turnpike Berlin, CT. 06037 or
to Sacred Heart Church c/o St. Paul’s Parish 461 Alling St.
