In the two years I have worked at Berlin High, I knew Dom as a gentle soul who radiated peace and caring. He was dedicated to his family, students, and the greater school community. We walked away from many meetings together, talking about our sons, who shared an interest in football, college choices, and student concerns. His absence will be deeply felt at BHS this year. God bless him and his family. Be at peace, his pain is gone.

We are very saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. DelConte. He was terrific counselor to our two boys, Nicholas and Michael. Mr. DelConte provided much support to Nicholas throughout his four years at Berlin High School. Michael was freshman this past year and Mr. DelConte's office was always a safe haven for a first year student. Whenever there was a problem or a concern, Mr DelConte was quick to help and provide support and a compassionate ear. He made a difference in our children's lives.

I was so sorry to hear of Dom's passing. I worked as his colleague at BHS for 6yrs. in the early '90's. He was always quick to smile and lend a hand. I remember how he spoke so proudly of his wife and kids; his deep devotion to their well-being was very obvious. I was fortunate to see Dom last year at George Synnott's retirement party. He was so warm and friendly that it didn't feel like years had passed between us since our last conversation. We caught up instantly with talk of our children and how we each were doing. I am sorry for your loss, Joanne, Matt, and Christina. Dom was a wonderful human being that I had the honor of knowing.

Dear Joanne, Matthew and Christina, Our deepest sympathy to all of you on the passing of yur husband and father. Joanne, I remember at your wedding, I was ready to deliver Michael at any time and Dom came up to me at the wedding reception concerned about how I was feeling and wondered whether I would make it through dinner. We laughed when I told him that I wouldn't have it any other way, dinner looked great as did the beautiful bride and groom before me. Fast forward some years later, that same baby that he was concerned about was now a BHS student. Whenever I had the pleasure of being in his company, Dom was always so complimentary and knowing about Michael. I would always end up feeling peaceful after speaking with him. He was a kind and gracious gentleman. Matthew and Christina, remember that the very best of your father will continue to live on, in and through you. He was so proud of his family and rightfully so. May all of your warmest memories comfort you in the time to come. All of you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless all of you. Donna, Vinny and Michael Trigilio

Dear Family, It was with great sadness that I learned of Dom's illness early Sunday evening. I meet Dom in 1970. Taught next to his classroom in the former Washington Junior High School. He taught English, me American History. What a true gentleman. Smart, kind and compassionate beyond words. We solved all of WJH problems at lunch, cafe duty and hall duty. What an outstanding staff we had at WJH school! As Dom moved to Kensington, I would see him at BHS events, BHS football games and would often see him jogging down Kensington Road, past my home. He now runs on the Superhighway of our Lord and Master. " Welcome Home, my good and faithful Servant." May God give you strength to accept his physical loss. Len Prygoda, Kensington, CT

On behalf of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors - to the DelConte family, friends and school faculty, I want to express my shock and sadness at the loss of Dominic. He was wonderful to work with on Chamber projects. I remember the last time I saw him - it was in 2009 when he accompanied Christina to the Chamber office to pick up her Scholarship check - he looked very proud. He will be missed - you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
