Josephine R. Anthony, 97, of New Britain, died Tuesday at the Arden Courts in Farmington. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Ralph and Maria (D'Avanzo) Anthony, she was a life long resident. Upon graduation from New Britain High School, she began her working career at Landers, Frary and Clark. She later worked in the Assessor's Office for the City of New Britain for many years. She was a charter member of St. Maurice Church. Josephine is predeceased by three sisters Louise Loicano, Elsie Jordan, Ann Lacava and a brother Alphonse Anthony. Josephine is survived by her niece Jacqueline L. Stover, grandniece Ann Conry, her husband Michael and their son, Jack, all of New York City, niece Marianne L. Fightlin, her husband Marshall and their children of Duluth, MN. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery New Britain. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Connecticut 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or to Alzheimer's Association of CT 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
